![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The film riffs on tweeness with self-aware humor: Chan-sil is single and aging, childless yet childish, and so are most of the other artists around her. She engages in a series of ambiguous dates with her flighty actor friend’s French tutor, and begins to see the ghost of Hong Kong actor Leslie Cheung, who only dons boxers and an undershirt. In the film, the alternately neurotic and tender movie producer Chan-sil, (played with spontaneity and earnestness by Kang Mal-Geum), tries to move on with her life in the wake of her director’s (the only director she’s ever worked with) premature death. Hong Sang-soo’s former producer, Kim Cho-hee, made a late-bloomer self-actualization film that draws both from her life to the side of the camera as well as her love of cinema.
